Games Convention Anno 2008

Ayase | Thursday, 3 July 2008

Recently a Press Release went out. Have you read it? Good (but only if the answer was yes).

Guys and girls,

Among many other things it gives away what I think most of you are interested in - that we will be attending Games Convention (GC) in Leipzig this year. For those of you who aren’t really familiar with GC, let me enlighten you. GC is a huge convention. When I’m saying “huge”, I’m meaning “enormous”. E3 was for long crowned the largest gaming exhibition in the world, but GC is in fact almost three times as large. And three times as crazy.  We are talking 200,000 people under the same roof over the course of 5 days. Now that I hopefully have your attention, I can even point out that it’s not too far away (August 20th-24th), so make sure to plan ahead and see to it that you’re there when we are!

All-in-all, we’re very excited about going as it’s a great opportunity of meeting up with you guys from the Aion communities out there! You can be sure to know that we are doing our best to arrange activities and events to make it memorable, alongside with bringing a whole bunch of goodies (read: things to keep!).

I know what you’re all asking yourselves: Will we be able to get Ayase’s autograph give Aion a spin?

There’s only one answer to that, which I’m more delighted to give you than anything else: Yes. Come in early, bring us cookies and hang around our stand a lot to make sure that you’ll get a shot at the game. It will definitely be worth it!

This might be a lot to take in at the same time, but I’ll nonetheless give you some more very important information to devour. Let’s take a look at the different things we will be doing at GC, besides letting you play Aion:

  • We’ll have an awesomely legendary stand.
  • All the NCE Community Teams will be there, which means that you will be able to speak to us in a variety of languages. The brilliant part of it is that not only will you be able to speak to us in all these languages, but some of us will actually be able to understand you. Note: No, I’m afraid that Klingon or Elven are not supported. wink
  • We will make you play (worst pun, ever)! Obviously not by force, but you will still find it difficult to not partake in any of the tempting Quests we will be distributing. They’ll give you honey-sweet XP which in turn can be traded in for some really nice goodies!
  • I can’t think of a less mind-blowing way to put this, but: We are bringing our beautiful Guild Wars models, seen somewhere over here. We’re also casting for Aion models. In other words, now you’ll definitely want to be there.
  • Community Sunday. This is a whole day dedicated to the marvellous communities of our games - to you! Some of the things you may experience this day include:

    • Costume Competitions. The first one to arrive in a full-scale Shugo outfit gets a special prize from me, personally!
Some other challenges would be: a full Exteel robot suit, a Tabula Rasa Bane or why not a Bling Gnome from the depths of Dungeon Runners?
    • There will most certainly be Live Acting on Stage. Stay tuned for more on this, but I can already say that you, the members of the community, will get the stage and the centre of attention, maybe to share various funny/tragic/boring moments from your guild in a relaxed manner! Details to come.

I could probably go on but our central A.I. mastermind is still working on this data and generating event details as we speak. Just stay tuned. Hopefully I’ll have more information to share soon.

Over, and out!

Hey Ayase, Im seriously thinking on attending there, can I get a ticket to get inside on the very first day or should I preorder it?

Thanks for the hard work and, well, see you there wink

Edit by Ayase:
That’s great! I talked to the guys here who have been there before. They recommended pre-ordering, just to be sure.

Hey, sounds pretty nice and I would come if I had the money for it, and some time of course smile

Also that´s a good opportunity to make some commercial for AION in the EU ^^

I wish you a good time there, and take some nice pictures so the people that weren´t there can see what they missed ^.^
